There will be jellies.

Starting to decorate for Christmas.  We picked out our tree.  I finally put halloween in the attic and Christmas cards are starting to arrive.  But, this is my first time decking the halls with a toddler. It might take me the whole month to get it all done.  We had a melt down over these tiny bottle bush trees.  Life is hard when you are told you can't whack the dog with the holiday decor.

Potted Christmas trees replace the ferns.

I ate my weight in casseroles, soufflés, and turkey over Thanksgiving.  Made three dishes this year in efforts to learn my mom's traditional dishes. They were pretty good, if I do say so myself! I'm working on perfecting my mushroom soufflé to share the recipe with y'all.  The flavor was mouth.watering.delicous. but it came out a little soupy.  I secretly didn't want my efforts to be too unforgettable because I don't want any body (Im talking to you mom) getting crazy ideas about me taking over  as head Thanksgiving chef.   Stay tuned.

After a full day of fun, food, and cousins, we headed to the beach.  Happy and Pepper tagged along.

Couldn't get enough of Huddy in his peeking bambi sweater and sweater leggings.

This is my favorite bottled marinade/dipping sauce for pork tenderloin.  You should try it.   The steam bag quinoa and spinach isn't half bad either.

Our beach house interiors have been slow to come together, but soon enough we will be surrounded by beauties like these.  Can't wait.

This would look so great paired with brown boots and denim.

Prairie Check Coat = $89

I'm starting to gravitate towards any clothing that looks like a giant blanket.   Saw this in a store and it's divine. Can take you from daytime chic to couch.

My memory is terrible.  I take a zillion pictures so that I always remember where I've been and what I've done.  Many times, my pictures remind me of exactly how I was feeling in the moment.  I love revisiting my travel adventures the most.  I'm happiest when I'm out seeing the world.  I started to keep a travel journal, but that got tedious.

So, what was I doing in November of 2011?? Glad you asked! Let's take a peek inside my travel diary, picture book style.

I was driving the PCH 1 with Mr. Fox and feeling like this...

Edge of the country excitement right there!

We stayed here (Post Ranch Inn)

So we could watch the sunset from here

But one could also sleep here

and still be able to eat breakfast here

then go for a mid day swim here

or an afternoon hike here

make sure to look out for this guy

Then you could drive a little further and enjoy a delicious meal at Nepenthe.

until you are comatose like this

No time to sleep though because exciting adventures are just up the road!

There will be seals

There will be jellies

You'll see copper bars

Beauty every where you look

When your husband could care less about golf, you only have to eat lunch here

then you get to move on to more exciting things like RODENTS and BIRDS.  oh joy.

say hello to my little friends

If you love me, you'll feed it in your lap.

He loves me.

Awesomely terrified. Gimme dat peanut.

I can't for the life of me remember why in the hells bells I picked that giant sperm thing up and started whipping it around. what is that?!!!

Hope your Thanksgiving was divine.

Go whip some thing strange, around yo head. (said in Ghost Busters Theme song style)

Quick Picks - Scarves and Hats

I love to accessorize with scarves and hats. That's no secret. This season plaid is a huge trend, but the classic red, green, and blue hues can leave me feeling a little too much like a lumberjack.  Although, sexy lumberjack does have it's appeal, am I right?

If you want to leave the sexy lumberjack look for the fellas...

Here are my quick picks for a softer look.

Soft Double Layered Scarf - $39.90

I love the subtle blush tones in this neutral scarf.  Plaid Blanket Scarf - $128

Game Day Fashion + other

This weekend my pledge sisters and I are doing our annual reunion tailgate.  We had a group of 12 girlfriends that were really close throughout college. Several years ago we decided to do an annual tailgate reunion as a way to keep up with each other.  We had to come up with a name for our tent, and  "Twelvegate" was born.  I look forward to it every year!

I love Auburn football, and I've been lucky enough to have been in the stadium for what will probably be some of the most infamous games in Auburn history.  Nothing quite like pulling out miraculous victories!!

When it comes to game day fashion I am all over the map. For most events I dress in whatever I am feeling the best in at that moment. Game day is no exception.

In the past,

I've gone with a casual blue jean look {Au vs Ole Miss 2011}, and this silk Tucker maxi dress {2011}

image.jpg

Last year I wore this neoprene Clover Canyon dress. I still love that dress.

And for one of those times where I look back and laugh at my outfit, there's this little mini skirt, turtleneck, heinous wrestling belt number..... my interview at Hooters was later in the day. (jokes.) No seriously, the belt is to support my back back from the weight of my top half.

This year I am going to be rocking' an orange and blue tiger print jumper, knee high boots, and my navy fringe jacket. Theme dressing in the best way!

image.jpg

Top Shop fringe jacket //Parker romper// Michael Michael Kors boots purchased last year. Similar ones here

Every year we have cups made for our tailgate. Auburn University is asking everyone to wear orange for the game against LSU. In honor of THE BEST SHOW EVER, and our school's wardrobe color suggestion, K made these bomb cups.

Speaking of Parker Rompers, I ordered this one from Revolveclothing.com and it is fantastic. Unfortunately, it's too small in the bust. damn boobs again.  Parker's beaded clothing is simply the best.

Now that it's October, Alabama might actually get some sweater weather.

I ordered from Zara.com for the first time. Really loving some of the sweaters I purchased. There are dozens of things on their website that I love. If you've never checked Zara out you should. Reasonably priced and free shipping and returns. These are just a few of the things I'm obsessing over.

I couldn't resist this oversized beauty in my favorite color.

( Clutch - Prada, Glitter pumps - Louboutin, Pants - Minnie Pant from J. Crew )

{yes, I am taking  outfit selfies in my bedroom. the air conditioning won over scenery today. whatevs. focus on the sweater!}

I love the back detail.

I adore this pastel color block sweater. So beautiful with mint, blush, and cream.  It has a relaxed fit. Cant wait to wear this one.

 Color block sweater - $79

This pork recipe is a winner. A favorite among my Twelvegate girlfriends.  The pan sauce will make you want to lick the pan. Easy to cook. Delicious.

Cookware a little lacking at the beach house. Thanks to whomever bought this bread dish, and left it at the house. :)

I hit the lottery when it comes to parents.  Two of the most loving people you will ever meet. I hope Hudson will one day think of Mr. Fox and me the way I think of my parents.  My mom and dad celebrated their 42nd anniversary on September 23.  My dad makes my mom breakfast every morning. That could be the key to their long marriage.  And the fact that he likes to buy her jewelry.  It's probably the jewels not the toast. #winwin

image.jpg

My parents met at Auburn. My mom loves to tell the story on how she accidentally stood my dad up on their first date. He was to pick her up at her dorm early in the morning. She over slept. No cell phones, no way in the dorm, dad was out of luck!  When it comes to my love of sleeping, I get it from my momma!

This photo was taken at my mom's graduation from Auburn.

Loving Auburn is a family tradition.

For a little more random, this basket makes me laugh. I love to decorate for Halloween. I started pulling my things out this week.

I miss the beach the second I leave.

We celebrate our fifth anniversary this month.

Girl talk with a view.

I absolutely love it when I see people in their Fox Den style purchases! How great does D look in her  white poncho and B in her fab booties?!! LOOKING GOOD LADIES!

{That's B'sFantastic house all decorated for W's baby shower.}

Huddy is currently in to all things truck.  I got him a plastic tool set, and immediately regretted showing him how to use a hammer.

That's a whole lotta random for one post! Go to Zara and order some sweaters, cook some pork, and WAR EAGLE!!

Bootie, Bootie, Bootie

Get your mind out of the gutter people. I'm talkin' footwear, not rears!

Bootie, Bootie, Bootie, Walkin' everywhere.

Here are some of my favorite booties this fall.

1. Chinese Laundry Unleash - $89.95 // 2. Diana Booties - $99 // 3. Joie Dalton - $325 // 4. Zared Suede Wedge Ankle Boots - $395  // 5. Stuart Weitzman Meridian Wedge Booties - $485 //  // 6. Kensley Extreme Tread Leather Ankle Boot - $120 // 7. Lenora Ankle Wedge Bootie - $29.99 // 8. DV Colie Platform Ankle Bootie - $250  // 9. Lubov Covered Sandal - $87.20 // 10. Kristen Cavillari Laurel - $149 // 11. Swayze Wedge Booties - $109 // 12. Rory Wedge Booties - $125

I don't really think any of the styles this year are super unique. Nobody reinvented the wheel.  That's not all bad because most styles available now are pretty timeless. (Read: you will like them for more than one boot season!) Though, there are a few cons to the styles this year. Many booties are cut-out styles that are fine for now, but will leave you with frost bite later! Plus, even the "low" priced brands seem to be pretty proud of their boots.  My advice would be to invest in a pair that you know you can wear season after season.  Almost all of these booties come in a variety of colors.  Just like real a$$e$ everywhere. :)

His vocabulary is increasing every.single.day. He blows our minds with how well he can communicate, but mostly we marvel at how he will say things at the appropriate time. Yesterday when we walked outside, he commented , "ohhhhh, It's a hot daaay." Yes. Yes it is. Sweet little love has also become quite fond of bursts of screaming in public. That is NOT such a cute new trick!  I recently broke all my mommy rules and gave him a sucker at dinner to stop the screaming. It worked. I know I reinforced the bad behavior, but I had a delishly quiet meal!

Hope you are enjoying your last week of August. It is hot as blue blazes here. This last heat wave might have me looking forward to sweater weather after all!

Then there are these slip on sneakers for $50 that are so similar to a Joie pair that retails for $190!! I, no shock, love the green. The taupe is a perfect shoe for fall.

Tie.Dye.For

Tie-dye is making a major comeback and I'm not mad about it!  The trend was hot back summer 2012 and it looks like it's not going anywhere. Today's tie-dye is not quite the same Greatful Dead look of the past. Thank goodness! The look is more hippie-chic than concert stoner. Sophisticated fabrics, limiting dye to one or two colors,  softer more abstract design, and gradient dye or ombré effects make this trend one you don't have to be in a psychedelic state to try!

Here is the trend seen on some of your favorite celebrities.

I love how Miranda Kerr (top right) takes the look a bit edgier. Reese Witherspoon (bottom right) takes tie-dye in the opposite direction pairing neutral accessories with conservative and classic cuts.

As seen in above pics, tie-dye is surprisingly versatile. I always consider cost per wear and if I can make several outfits and occasions work, the item is a good choice.  Clothes that do swimsuit coverup and dinner out and airplane with Huddy, makes for a quicker pack, less laundry and a simplified day.  As I've mentioned before, I love clothes that have multiple (trippy) personalities!!

Here are three of my favorite tie-dye looks currently in my closet.

image.jpg

In the first outfit,  tie-dye is a trendy update to my "uniform." Nothing complicated - tee, denim cut-offs, booties, and accessories. Half tuck my top, throw on a hat (duh), and I'm out the door!

Fox Den Fashion Tips:

Top is a small and is a generous, high low cut with a longer back.  I am on the shorter side and by tucking a front portion of my shirt, I can correct proportions and  prevent longer length tops from swallowing me up. This isn't as big of a problem for me when I am wearing pants, but you don't ever want your top longer than your shorts!  An off-set tuck also works as an easy, casual way to give you a more defined waist. No more shapeless sack effect!

Shorts are on sale for $46! Snag them! They fit really loosely and I sized down from my normal jean size.  Felt hat is just $38 bucks! Get you one and show me how you wear it!

Top by Tina+Jo purchased from Alys Shoppe // White cut-offs by Free People // Booties by Dolce Vita // Felt Hat by ASOS

Arm Party - There are no rules at an arm party. That's what makes it great! I always buy individual pieces I love then make up the stack as I go.  Some of my favorite will attend numerous parties. Some just come out on occasion. Classic metals always work.

The second tie-dye look can be worn as a swimsuit coverup or as a dress. Pair it with flats and simple accessories for a casual vibe or pile on the jewels, and step into heels for a night out.  I love this in the rich fuchsia and warm orange colorway. Pairs perfectly with warm gold accessories. It also comes in black and white. Can be purchased at the Alys Shoppe.

I'm in love with the neckline and shoulder detailing of this dress; flattering on every shape!

The third tie-dye outfit has to be one of my favorite purchases this summer!!  This romper by Bless'ed are the Meek is tie-dye perfection.  The colors are blue and soft lavender and the cut is ultra flattering. If you think you can't pull of a romper, you're wrong! It might take a little searching, but even a long torso lady like myself can wear this look! I still stick to the old rule that if one part of your body is being shown off then the other half should be more modest. I love this voluminous caftan-inspiried top with the flowy shorts.  To keep things from feeling too airy, if you ya know what I mean, I wear this underneath. It's genius.

Can't you just feel my excitement to be wearing this romper?!!! It can make you do a rain dance too.

Wedges are super comfortable and are on sale for $53.99!
