Holiday Hangover

I have one. Big time.

It sort of makes me feel like this...

image.jpg

Poor Mr. Hudson. That Santa has you in a headlock and doesn't look happy to see you either.

We had a fabulous holiday and spent most of the month of December doing what we do best. EATING.PLAYING.SLEEPING. #lifeisgood

Cornbread, peas, butter beans, fried okra, and fried chicken fingers - does it sound more sophisticated if I say "al fresco"?? southern born. southern fed.

We (well, I mostly supervised/micromanaged) spruced up the yard. They looked great for about 2 weeks.

Now, everything is looking rather worn by life.

Trying to break the adorable scale.

LOOK AWAY if you have a weak stomach.  You've been warned.

Jokes. That was just a cookie for santa fail. Although the tops do look promising.

This is the real image you've be warned to skip past.

Drop went the log. Smash goes my foot.  Pyro problems.

working on our selfie game. and our entomological knowledge.

Speaking of  insects, this bug paper from the Paper Source has me wishing for an infestation.

The gift that keeps on giving. I should really have a pot of this simmering all year round. Smells divine. Has way less harmful side effects than cooking cookies, which also smells divine.  Thank you , C!

Have you discovered yet that I make jewelry?! This is one of my favorite necklaces.  Fossilized coral with a horn pendant.  Perfectly neutral.  Now You can browse some of my designs right here On the blog.  Check it out.

Or check out the cutest farmer you ever did see. Santa knew the big green tractor would be a winner.   What? You thought with that long hair he wouldn't be in to "boy" things? Wrong, my friends. dead wrong.

image.jpg

Yes he does.

cars. trains. trucks.  guaranteed H has one (or all) on him at all times.

I watched NYE fireworks from my bed this year. It was pretty fantastic.

My favorite gift this Christmas has to be this fur. It was my grandmother's and my cousin so sweetly passed it on to me.  I'll cherish it forever.  Dot, you were one stylish lady!

image.jpg

My dining room has a bird theme at Christmas. I love it.

My emroderied runner.

In Alabama, we grow pheasants bigger than trees.

image.jpg

I usually leave the cards up until Valentine's.  Love being greeted by precious friends' faces.

This fresh boxwood wreath from Home Depot proved to be a real winner.  It's still up and still green.

image.jpg

This wreath was a gift and is gorgeous.  From LL Bean of all places! Who knew? Remembering that for next year.

image.jpg

There's no way you have seen enough pictures of people's trees. My parents' tree is the most fabulous monster. They had to saw it in half to get it out of the house.  truth.

And this is how you wrap a large stuffed dog.

found this mint green tree this year.  good luck, I tell ya.

pretty little spot.

this view is good for the soul.

style twins.

If that doesn't look cozy, I don't know what does.  He's never in a rush to get out of bed in the mornings. I don't blame him at all.

Another gift to us that is so unique and fabulous is this clock from National Geographic  It uses your map address as the custom art on a tile.  A small compass rose indicates your chosen location. How great is that?! They do coasters too.

image.jpg

Little monkey. Loves to bathe his menagerie.

image.jpg

The Montgomery Zoo has a pretty great light exhibit at Christmas. They also have a train, which is all H is really interested in.

No wonder my back hurts. He's basically full grown human.

image.jpg

But still toss-able.

heated pool for the win!

image.jpg

l left my child unattended for the first time ever to shower. I know. I can't believe it either. He was exactly where I left him. Who ever created Little Baby Bum long nursery rhyme compilation is a true believer in mom's staying clean.

love him so enormously.

cat haters, hide your eyes.

Our fire dazzles.

Always looking for "ki ki"! What cat doesn't like trees in the house?

image.jpg

Thankfully, H isn't interested in our ornaments in a threatening way.  He does love to name everything on the tree bc our tree has more animals than a zoo.  You can't blame him.

Two years ago we had this elf on a shelf.  I could just cry. It goes by too quickly.

Hope your holiday hangover isn't causing too much pain.
