The Fox Den Blog is BORN!

Hello!! Welcome!

After months of wanting to start a blog, agonizing, and analyzing every detail, I have finally taken the plunge.  It's not exactly where I want it yet in terms of layout and design, but I figured I would just learn as I go. Practice makes perfect, right?! I have a new appreciation for all you bloggers out there. It can be tricky!

Naming my blog was the easy part. Setting it up, not so much. It is still a work in progress. I wanted to have a blog that was a quick and easy means to share information, stories, pictures, etc.  I am not a professional photographer and 95% of my pictures will be from my iPhone. I don't have gobs of time that doesn't involve a very busy toddler so most of my posts will be short and sweet.   I love sharing my finds and tips and I love to hear yours too! Please feel free to comment! Feedback, community, and sharing of knowledge are the best parts of having a blog. Nothing too serious will be discussed here.

Why "The Fox Den?" Well, I wanted to write a lifestyle blog that covered a variety of topics. Naturally, my favorite topics are centered around my home and my family.  A fox has become a sort of family mascot and our home is a treasured place of comfort, much like a fox den.

It all started years ago when I met this (older) handsome man.  I would only (lovingly) refer to him to my girlfriends as The Silver Fox. It makes me laugh to think of this now because the "older" man was not much older than I am now (one foot in the GRAVE, I tell you!) and his "silver" hair was a 100 times darker then. . .  Guess the current silver coloring is my fault!!  Ha.   Since then, he has become Mr. Fox, my husband, my baby daddy, my best friend.

Meet my husband, Mr. Fox.  Pretty foxy, huh?!

I surprised Mr. Fox with a vintage brass fox door knocker for the first home we purchased as a married couple.  We spent months renovating and this Etsy find was a perfect addition to give a personal touch to our side entry.  Details like this make our house our home.  I look forward to sharing more from our renovation and interior design experience.

Needless to say, we were into foxes long before anyone ever knew (or cared) what a fox said!!

Now, let's meet the rest of the family!

Mr. Fox and I had our first child in September of 2012.  Meet Mr. Hudson.

He is now a busy, almost two-year-old, who brightens our world in every way.

Expect to see a lot of Mr. Hudson on The Fox Den.

Last, but not least, meet the fur kids.

Oscar, an American Cocker Spaniel, has been wild from day one. Mr.Fox gave him to me for my 25th birthday. He is fantastically patient with Hudson and allows his abusive sister, Milly, to share his bed. He's never full and likes to jump out of moving transportation.

Milly, our cat, is a stray that we found in the Costco parking lot. She's super smart, fantastic with Hudson, and sneak attacks the dog.  She's the perfect pet. Don't tell Oscar.
