Stylist for 24hrs

For a mere 24hrs, I got to be a celebrity stylist. Hello, DREAM job.

It was the.most.awesome.awesome.EVER. Plus, I got to attend Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen! Did I mention it was awesome?!!

Amy Johnson, star of Bravo's hit reality show, Below Deck, was scheduled for her first live appearance, and, naturally, she was in a panic about what to wear. Because, it's kind of a big deal! Amy is a friend of a friend, and when I heard that she wanted my assistance, I said, "HELL-TO-THE-YES, AMY JO!" I packed 70 pounds worth of dresses, shoes, and jewelry and jumped on a 6 a.m. flight to NYC. It was a fast and furious trip, but it was fabulously fun!!

We stayed at the Gansevoort in the Meat Packing district. I've actually stayed at this hotel before, and I highly recommend it. The Meatpacking district is one of my favorite areas. Here is a view from the rooftop bar.

We met for lunch at the Standard Hotel then we got down to business.

I had an idea of what I wanted to dress Amy in. Honestly, she is gorgeous and has a rocking' body so making her look good wasn't exactly a challenge. She is also incredibly sweet and genuine {can't say the same for a cast mate I met ( insert big eyed emoji)}  Amy has a bohemian spirit and loves wearing color. I can handle that!  Amy wanted her outfit to stay true to her personality, but we also had to be conscious of how her outfit would translate on T.V. and how it would look while seated, which she would be for the entire interview.  Also, I wanted to emphasize her teeny, tiny waist. We spent the whole afternoon trying on different dresses, shoes, jewels, and practicing the best way to sit in each ensemble. It really was a lot to consider!

Earlier that afternoon, while Amy was out doing some press interviews, I pulled out my top outfit picks and jewelry so she could see what we were working with.

We eventually decided to go with a dress I have previously blogged about, my pink wrap dress by Rhode Resort. She was beaming with confidence when she put it on, and I knew immediately it was the right choice. She looked absolutely radiant!

K and I sending Amy off to the studio for her makeup. Further proof of the natural beauty she is.

I don't know how I didn't get a solo shot of her in it, but here is one of The Johnson siblings and me.

Stop gawking at her studly brother, Kelley.

Doesn't she look fabulous??!! I love, love, love the pink color on her! Everybody and their momma wears black on T.V.  I say, Go BOLD!  I knew the wrap style would be ultra-figure flattering. Her hairstyle (Amy did her own hair!) complimented the dress perfectly. Mermaid-bohemian-yacht-steward-goddess-look achieved!

Watch What Happens Live tapes live at 11pm. I was so excited that my exhaustion didn't set in until the following day. Thank goodness because nothing ruins a celebrity stylist fantasy faster than the reality slap of mom-job-induced narcolepsy.  Sudden sleep attacks, anyone?!!

Anywho, back to the.most.awesome. The show is shot at the Bravo headquarters in a really tiny, intimate studio.  It was a very laid back and fun scene.

We got to hang out in the green room prior to the show.  Amy was a chill as a cucumber.

Quick outfit change and our starlet was ready for the after party! {sorry for the terribly grainy photo.}

The show was a huge success! Amy was as charming as ever and nailed-it. She was super impressive under the anxiety of a live show! She looked amazing, and the dress got rave reviews. It was a great experience!!

Make sure to tune into Bravo tonight to watch Below Deck , Season 2, season finale 9/8c! Previous episodes can be viewed as well. I really hope we get to see Amy and a Season 3!

Meanwhile, on the home front, Huddy was on a date.

I am truly lucky to have two of the best babysitters a mom could ever hope for.  While I was in NYC, L took Huddy to the zoo, where he and E had a date. Aren't they the cutest things you've ever seen?!

Huddy sharing his enthusiasm for the animals with E.  I could just gobble them up! :)

Here, Mr. Hudson was practicing his "flamingo." This is a sure-fire way to impress the ladies.

Melts my heart!!!! Thank you L for sending me these precious pictures!

Hope you enjoyed my fantasy, 24 hr dream job tale!  In another life.......
